Faster than a hurricane's wind: a skateboard record falls at 94 mph
Down a steep, curving road in Les Éboulements, Quebec, Spanish downhill skateboarder Diego Poncelet Sanchez-Cuenca tucked in and flew — through the timing trap at 151.83 km/h (94.34 mph), faster than the wind of a hurricane and quick enough to take the Guinness World Records title for the fastest downhill skateboard speed, standing. The two-time world champion broke his friend Peter Connolly's mark of 146.73 km/h (91.17 mph) on the same road. He first fell for the sport as a boy who watched a rider vanish safely around a bend he was sure would end in a crash.
The upbeat factora childhood moment of wonder, answered decades later at 94 miles an hour.
