Five cheetah cubs born at Kuno take India's cheetah count to 60
An Indian-born cheetah named KJP21 has given birth to five healthy cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, lifting India's total cheetah population to 60. She is only the third India-born female to become a mother — a sign the reintroduced population is starting to renew itself on Indian soil. The cubs' father came from Botswana, adding a fresh genetic line that helps keep the young population healthy.
The upbeat factorawe — a species extinct in India since 1952 is now having babies born on Indian soil.
