Five realtors, five life-changing neighbourhood projects: the 2026 Good Neighbor Awards

The National Association of REALTORS has named its 2026 Good Neighbor Awards — now in their 27th year — honouring members who give their time, money and expertise to change their communities. This year's five winners include Shawnee Doherty in Phoenix, Arizona, whose Hope Through Hollis Foundation supports families; Sue Farrell in Richmond, Virginia, whose Boots to Suits programme helps veterans move into civilian careers with clothing and confidence; Weston Jenkins in Boerne, Texas, whose Disabled Outdoorsmen USA takes people with disabilities hunting, fishing and into the outdoors; and Jay Miralles in Elkhorn, Nebraska, whose 50 Mile March Foundation supports veterans facing homelessness and mental-health challenges. None of it is their day job. All of it is the kind of work that quietly holds a town together.
