Free groceries for nearly three years measurably healed hearts and metabolism

Mass General Brigham patients who received weekly plant-based grocery packages for an average of 2.7 years saw steady, dose-dependent drops in blood pressure, weight, and BMI — the first long-term look at a 'Food Is Medicine' program. Across 68 participants, every 100 packages received was linked to a 3.21 mmHg drop in diastolic blood pressure and 2.6 kilograms of weight loss.
