Freetown walked against meningitis - from the historic Cotton Tree to the Youyi Building

On Saturday, October 3, health workers, civil society groups and development partners marched through central Freetown to get ahead of meningitis before World Meningitis Day on October 5. The walk, organized by Sierra Leone's Ministry of Health and Sanitation with the National Public Health Agency, the WHO and the Children's Advocacy Forum, carried simple, life-saving messages street to street: sudden high fever, severe headache, stiff neck - get help fast. Officials called it shared work for parents, caregivers, schools and health workers alike.
