From Seville to Chachapoyas: Peru's scientific diaspora comes home to meet

For ten years, Peruvian scientists scattered across Europe have gathered as Sinapsis — and this year's edition stretched the idea across an ocean. On October 2, the meeting opened simultaneously in Seville, at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, and in Chachapoyas, Peru, at the Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza, with live shared sessions linking the two campuses. Peru's consul general in Seville, Rosario Botton Girón, attended in person; Foreign Minister Carlos Espá joined by video, calling the gathering 'an important bridge' between Peruvian talent abroad and knowledge built at home. A decade in, the diaspora has a two-way door.
