Glaw Lake becomes India's 101st Ramsar site — and Arunachal's first
On August 3, 2026, a pristine high-altitude lake tucked inside Kamlang Tiger Reserve earned international wetland status. Fed by perennial mountain streams and sacred to the Mishmi community, Glaw Lake and its catchment shelter more than 150 tree species, 49 wild orchids, the critically endangered white-bellied heron and four big-cat species.
