He felt perfectly fine - then a charity heart check found his silent heart attack. He climbed a mountain to say thanks.

Simon, 55, from North Wales, tagged along when his 16-year-old daughter booked a free heart screening with the charity Calon Hearts, which screens 15-to-26-year-olds free and adults at a heavy subsidy - he paid 300 pounds (about $408) for his own. He felt completely fine. The charity's cardiologist sent him straight to hospital; days later he learned he had suffered a 'silent heart attack' and needed an angioplasty to open a blocked artery. Convinced the screening saved his life, Simon spent last weekend climbing Yr Wyddfa - Snowdon, Wales's highest peak - to raise money so the charity can screen more families. 'The best 300 pounds I ever spent,' he said.

The upbeat factora life quietly saved, answered with a mountain climbed.
