In its centenary year, Kruger is wheeling in clean power for a quarter of its needs
South African National Parks, Discovery Green, and Sasol announced a partnership that will supply renewable energy equal to more than 25% of Kruger National Park’s yearly electricity use — wheeled through the national grid, so no conservation land has to be cleared for power plants. Kruger, proclaimed in 1926, is SANParks’ biggest electricity user, and the pilot could later extend to other parks.
The upbeat factora hundred-year-old wilderness, powered for its next century.
