India and Ghana sign a five-year pact for farm science
India's farm research agency ICAR and Ghana's Crops Research Institute have signed a five-year agreement on joint crop research and technology transfer, sealed in Accra alongside India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. First up: better tomato varieties to strengthen Ghana's home-grown production, plus cassava and yam processing and cold storage to cut post-harvest losses. On the same visit, Ghana accepted membership of the International Big Cat Alliance.
