India is sending youth squads into 55 districts to end TB, village by village

Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched JOSH (Joint Squad for Health) teams on Thursday — volunteers, student cadets, and local officials fanning out across 55 districts in 11 states to talk TB: symptoms, testing, treatment, and busting stigma. The campaign, TB Mukt Bharat, also unveiled an AI chatbot to answer questions. Last year, nearly 68,000 village councils were recognized as TB-free.
