India's private investment engine is humming at its fastest pace in three years

Economic Affairs Secretary Anuradha Thakur told the Kautilya Economic Conclave that capital formation grew at its fastest pace in over three years in the April–June quarter, with companies committing to new projects in power, data centres and metals. India pulled in a record $97 billion of foreign investment last fiscal year — about $30 billion of it in the first quarter alone — while the fiscal deficit has fallen to a budgeted 4.3% of GDP from 9.2% five or six years ago.
