India's telemedicine service just crossed half a billion doctor visits

eSanjeevani, India's national telemedicine platform, reached 500,092,730 cumulative consultations on September 15, 2026 — the world's largest public-sector telemedicine initiative, per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Women account for 57.14% of consultations, adults 46 and older for 40.15%, and seniors 60+ for 16.25%. The network spans more than 142,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs linked to 19,473 medical hubs, with a single-day record of 630,315 consultations, in 15 languages.
