Kenya just bought a bigger seat at Africa's table
Kenya has moved into the African Union's highest financial contribution tier — alongside Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa — as the continent pushes to fund its own institutions instead of leaning on external donors. Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi, in Addis Ababa for the AU Executive Council session, called it "a vote of confidence in Kenya's expanding economic influence and leadership across Africa."
