Like oil droplets in water: Singapore scientists map a hidden behaviour inside cells

Proteins inside living cells sometimes gather into droplets, much like oil in water — a process linked to disease, ageing and even crop resilience. A Nanyang Technological University team has built an AI platform and database that predicts which proteins behave this way across animals, plants, fungi and bacteria. The work, published in Molecular Plant, gives researchers everywhere a shared map of a once-invisible process.
