Mexico City gets its own Xbox Game Camp: Latin America's game makers, mentored at home
On Saturday 17 October, Mexico City hosted the first Xbox Game Camp held there — a one-day summit for Latin American independent game developers, run by Microsoft's ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program alongside the Xbox FanFest in the company's 25th anniversary year. The point of the camp is practical: local studios get mentorship, technical guidance and a route toward publishing on Xbox consoles, Windows PCs and Xbox Play Anywhere, with targeted funding support behind the programme. For developers in the region, that matters because the distance between a talented studio in Mexico City and the global games market is rarely talent — it is contacts, know-how and a first break. A camp that brings the platform holder to the developers, in their own city, shortens all three.
