Mexico City's green ledger: 10 million plants, recycling up 45%, and 12 million litres of water saved daily
Mexico City has put numbers on its green push. The capital reports 10 million plants, trees and shrubs planted in conservation areas, a recycling campaign that has lifted recovery by 45%, and leak repairs now saving more than 12 million litres of drinking water every day. The city is putting MX$19 billion (about $1.1 billion) into water policy this year, restoring 50,000 hectares of conservation land with local producers, and launching its largest-ever street-tree planting — a million more trees along avenues and medians.
The upbeat factora megacity treating trees, water and waste as one connected act of care.
