Nearly every child in Jordan is in school — UNICEF is applauding
UNICEF chief Catherine Russell closed a two-day visit to Jordan praising something rare and worth celebrating: almost every child in the country now attends primary school, backed by a 2022 Child Rights Law. She met the education and social development ministers to talk about turning enrollment into quality learning and jobs — about 39 percent of young people are out of work — while warning that shrinking international aid threatens the progress. Enrollment is a victory; keeping it is the next one.
