New Zealand children's creators get a trans-Tasman stage: NZ$748,000 (about $420,000) to build digital-first series

NZ On Air has joined Screen Australia and the Australian Children's Television Foundation in the Kids IP Incubator, opening a door for New Zealand creators of children's shows to develop series made first for the platforms kids actually watch, like YouTube. Up to four New Zealand teams will join up to eight Australian teams for an eight-week program with industry mentors; NZ On Air is putting in about NZ$180,000 (about $100,000) to run the scheme and has set aside a further NZ$748,000 (about $420,000) for development and production, with up to two Kiwi projects funded into full production.

The upbeat factorstorytellers from both sides of the Tasman, in one room, building the shows the next generation will grow up on.
