Nigeria is bringing the world's solar-makers home to build panels on Nigerian soil
Innovation, science and technology minister Dr Kingsley Udeh says Nigeria is in talks with major global manufacturers, including Turkish firms, to set up solar panel production in the country, with agreements expected soon. The Rural Electrification Agency is lining up an annual offtake of 200 megawatts of locally made panels plus 200 megawatt-hours of battery storage, starting with federal institutions and universities. The upbeat factor85 million people waiting for light, and the panels to reach them made at home.
