No more stripping the bed on holiday: Airbnb bans the checkout chore list for guests

The holiday rental that came with homework is going out of style. Under new Airbnb rules reported by the BBC, hosts can set seven standard house rules and add other reasonable requests — but guests, who already pay a cleaning fee, should not be asked to do the cleaner's job: no washing the dishes, no stripping the beds, no working through a checkout chore list. The updated policy applies to every reservation booked on the platform on or after 20 November. It is a small rule change with a very human effect: the last morning of a trip goes back to being a holiday, not a shift.

The upbeat factoryou paid the cleaning fee — now the holiday's last morning is yours again.
