No single 'normal' way to eat: 9,000 Finns redraw the map of eating habits
A University of Oulu team looked at nearly 9,000 adults in northern Finland and found that eating habits shift naturally with age, sex and body size. Younger adults more often eat on emotion or impulse, while older adults more often hold back on purpose — and there is no single cut-off that fairly labels anyone's eating as abnormal. So the team built the first age- and sex-specific reference values for a widely used eating questionnaire, giving doctors a fairer way to compare a person's habits with people like them when they help with weight and health.
The upbeat factorkinder, fairer weight care — measured against people like you, not one rigid yardstick for everyone.
