Okavango conservation pact renewed for five more years

The National Geographic Society and the Okavango Eternal partnership renewed their conservation mission for five more years, with Botswana, Angola and Namibia forming a new alliance to protect the basin. The first five years funded 19 research expeditions, mapped 230 carbon-storing peatland sites and created 2,118 livelihood opportunities across the three countries.
