One Indian university has given Rs 723 crore (about $76 million) in scholarships

Ashoka University took two prizes at the 12th FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards for its philanthropy-funded access model: more than Rs 100 crore (about $10.5 million) in scholarships disbursed in 2025–26 alone, and Rs 723 crore (about $76 million) to over 5,400 students since inception. Its vice-chancellor, Rishikesha T. Krishnan, was named Personality of the Year.
