One of America's largest clothing recyclers gets new backing to give old clothes a second life

Mid-West Textile, based in El Paso, Texas, has spent more than forty years collecting, sorting and grading used clothing so it can be worn, reused or turned into new material instead of going to waste. One of the largest textile recyclers in the USA, it supplies thrift stores, fibre reclaimers and makers of industrial wiping cloths, and runs Thrift Town thrift stores in Texas and New Mexico. Investment firm Greybull Stewardship has now bought the company and plans to back its growth with capital and hands-on support, including expanding the thrift stores in the years ahead.
