Ontario is putting C$7 million (about $5 million) behind seniors' projects designed by seniors themselves

Ontario has opened applications for its Seniors Community Grant Program, investing C$7 million (about $5 million) in local projects that help older people stay healthy, active and connected — including an extra C$1 million (about $710,000) for programmes for senior veterans. Local groups can receive up to C$25,000 (about $18,000) for projects such as cooking workshops that double as social connection, fraud-prevention education, and digital-literacy help for people over 55 and their caregivers. 'These investments support local seniors projects, designed by seniors for seniors,' said MPP Kevin Holland, announcing the intake in Thunder Bay.
