Over 100 South African satellite parts are now in orbit

More than 100 satellite components built by South Africa's NewSpace Systems rode a SpaceX Falcon 9 into orbit in July 2026 — reaction wheels, sun sensors and magnetometers now working in low Earth orbit. The firm recently opened a 5,200m² factory, the largest satellite plant on the continent.
