Rehab at the kitchen table: home training triples practice — and patients get steadier
For 172 adults recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions at four Vibra Healthcare clinics in the USA, recovery did not stop at the clinic door. Using game-based exercises at home from Geneva-based MindMaze, patients averaged 174 minutes of active practice a week — tripling their total training — with 84% of it done on their own, no therapist in the room. After eight weeks, their independence, balance, mobility and thinking scores had all measurably improved, and most said they liked training this way.
The upbeat factorthe clinic can now come home — and three times the practice fits into an ordinary week.
