Rice that breathes easier: Vietnam's climate-smart farms cut emissions by about a third
On pilot farms in Vietnam's Mekong Delta, growers have changed how they flood and feed their rice — alternating wet and dry fields, using less seed and fertiliser, and almost stopping the burning of leftover straw. The result, reported by VnExpress: top-grade rice, harvests that hold up, and methane emissions down by roughly 35%. With most rice straw no longer burned, the same fields are cleaner for the families who work them, too.
