Sanofi breaks ground on a next-generation insulin plant in Frankfurt

Millions of people plan every day around insulin — the plant that makes it has to be as reliable as the medicine. In Frankfurt, Germany, Sanofi has broken ground on a 36,000-square-metre insulin manufacturing facility — about five football fields — at its BioCampus, with CEO Belén Garijo joined by Hesse Prime Minister Boris Rhein and Frankfurt Mayor Mike Josef. The plant will use advanced digital and AI quality systems to check production, a long-term commitment to keeping a life-essential medicine in steady supply.
