School bags, textbooks and first digital lessons for students at 18 Nigerian schools

Starting October 6, the MTN Foundation - working with UNICEF and the first ladies of nine states - is putting learning packs into the hands of students at 18 public secondary schools across Lagos, Osun, Ekiti, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Edo, Abia, Anambra and Cross River. Each pack carries textbooks, worksheets, a school bag, a water bottle and writing materials, wiping out the small out-of-pocket costs that push families to pull children from class. Students also get starter digital courses on the MTN Skills Academy, so the help keeps working after the handover.

The upbeat factorSometimes staying in school comes down to a bag, a book, and someone who believes you belong.
