Six in a row: Pauline Courtois conquers San Francisco Bay — again
Skipper Pauline Courtois and her Match in Pink by Normandy Elite Team — Maëlenn Lemaitre, Louise Acker and Laurane Mettraux — have done it again: a historic sixth consecutive world title at the Women's Match Racing World Championship in San Francisco Bay. Across four days of fickle October breeze and churning currents, the French crew won 19 of their 20 matches, then swept the Grand Final 3-0 against Nicole Breault's American team. ‘It was a really tight final; the score doesn't reflect how tight it was,’ Courtois said. Her secret? Old-fashioned speed: ‘My team did an amazing job keeping the boat going fast all the time.’
The upbeat factorsix years unbeaten — excellence as a habit.
