Sixteen young innovators, chosen from 9,600: Africa's STEM finalists take the stage in Cape Town

Sixteen students from Angola, Mozambique, Namibia and Nigeria — finalists chosen from more than 9,600 participants — presented their ideas at the third ExxonMobil Foundation STEM Africa Regional Finals during Africa Energy Week in Cape Town. Their projects tackled problems they know first-hand: getting energy to homes, keeping food fresh, and securing clean water. The programme pairs hands-on science learning with mentors who work in the field.

The upbeat factor9,600 young people entered; the sixteen finalists are solving their own communities' problems.
