Small grants, second chances: the rescue dogs and rabbits whose care strangers paid for
Tally is an American Bulldog found in grim conditions; today she is spayed, safe and healing, her care covered by a £6,000 (about $8,200) Pet Rescue Grant to the volunteer-run One Wish Dog Foundation in the UK. The Naturewatch Foundation's 2026 grants also sent eight rabbits — among them Snowy, who has found a forever home, and Magpie, now getting pain relief in his golden years — through Tiny Paws MCR's sanctuary, and funded a volunteer vets' project in Kent that neutered 20 rescue dogs and cats in a single month for a £1,000 (about $1,360) mini-grant. None of it is large money. All of it is the difference between an animal coping and an animal thriving.
The upbeat factorproof that in animal rescue, even £1,000 (about $1,360), aimed well, changes whole lives.
