Sri Lanka and Nepal just made their payment apps talk to each other

Nepali travelers landing in Colombo can now leave their wallets in the hotel. LankaPay and Nepal's NCHL have launched interoperable LankaQR payments — the first system of its kind between the two countries — letting Nepali visitors pay by scanning LankaQR codes straight from their own home payment apps, processed through regulated rails. It is a small technical handshake with big human consequences: easier tourism, smoother trade, and a lifeline for the small shops that live off visitors.
