Sunshine by day, wind by night, a battery to bridge them: ₹7.5 billion (about $79 million) backs one hybrid plant in Maharashtra
Fourth Partner Energy, an Indian clean-power developer, has secured ₹7.5 billion (about $79 million) in financing from Tata Capital Cleantech Finance for a single hybrid project in Maharashtra — 300 megawatts of solar, 50 megawatts of wind and a 750 megawatt-hour battery — with about ₹3.75 billion (about $39 million) already paid out. The pairing is the point: solar peaks in the daytime and wind often strengthens later, so the battery stores the surplus and smooths the gaps between them. The plant is expected to generate more than 630 million units of electricity a year for business customers, including data centres, and buyers have already committed to more than half of its planned output.
