Tears of joy as an ICU patient is reunited with his dog the day he leaves the ventilator

Sunny Sunder, after six weeks in critical care at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Birmingham, was reunited with his dog Milo on the very day he came off his ventilator — arranged by the critical care team at his father Bash Ram's request. Milo, who joined the family as an eight-week-old puppy, hadn't seen him in six weeks; there were tears in his eyes. Critical care lead nurse Rebecca O'Dwyer said such moments have an enormous impact on patients' mental health, wellbeing and morale.
