Teenagers are teaching Oakland's seniors to go digital — one phone at a time
Sylvia Chaney-Williamson kept leaving her transit card at home and getting stranded at the bus stop. So the Oakland senior citizen showed up at Northeastern University's Oakland campus for Senior Technology Day — and across the picnic table sat 18-year-old student Gabriella Nsubuga, who walked her through loading her Clipper card onto her iPhone. 'Marvelous, magnificent, extraordinary,' Chaney-Williamson gushed. It was part of a weeklong Oakland Tech Week series pairing tech-savvy students with seniors who want to close the digital gap.
