Ten projects, six countries, one green carpet: Latin America's Premios Verdes picked its 2026 winners from 2,087 entries
The Premios Verdes — Latin America's leading celebration of environmental and social innovation — named ten winning projects from Colombia, Peru, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Chile at a gala in Cuenca, Ecuador. The winners, chosen from 2,087 entries across 29 countries, work on water scarcity, biodiversity loss, pollution, clean energy and social inclusion. The awards' own impact study finds 36% of past participating projects went on to secure outside funding — the ceremony is deliberately built as a bridge between good ideas and the money that scales them.
The upbeat factora region's problem-solvers, celebrated on one stage — and measurably more likely to be funded afterwards.
