The clinic that comes to you: a Sri Lankan healthtech wins backing — after winning over flood victims first

Flash Health, the Colombo startup founded by Arshad Ameer, raised a US$200,000 seed round led by nVentures for its “Cashless OPD” platform — doctor consultations, medicines, diagnostics and telemedicine with no upfront payments, embedded with insurers and employers including SriLankan Airlines and Sri Lanka Cricket. Its promise became real during Cyclone Ditwah floods, when it ran a free Doctor Hotline handling 500+ medical inquiries, rushed medicines to flood zones with the Sri Lanka Red Cross, and reached 75,000 people with public-health guidance. The funding will deepen insurance integrations and scale a new homecare service for Sri Lanka’s ageing population; the model already won at the UN-backed World Summit Awards.

The upbeat factorWarmth — care that reaches people where they are, especially when the water rises.
