The Philippines is taking the doctor's office to school — for every child

In the Philippines, getting a child to a clinic can mean a day lost for the whole family. A new whole-of-government deal just signed by the country's education, health, interior and health-insurance chiefs will bring primary healthcare to children where they already are: school. The YAKAP School Health and Protection Program covers checkups and screening, developmental care, referrals, and disability-inclusive services across public and private schools, community learning centers, and child development centers — for learners, teachers, their families, and out-of-school youth too.
