The Philippines just outpaced Southeast Asia on clean-energy policy
While fuel markets wobbled this year, the Philippines moved faster than any of its neighbors on clean energy: a Zero Carbon Analytics study found the country enacted 13 renewable-energy and electrification measures between February and August 2026 — part of 22 energy measures in total, more than Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, or Vietnam. Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said every megawatt made at home 'strengthens our ability to withstand supply and price shocks beyond our borders.'
