The Commission on Elections is about to chair the Association of World Election Bodies and the Association of Asian Election Authorities simultaneously — a first in Philippine history. Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia takes both gavels at meetings in Makati City this week, joining a joint conference on 'Technology, Trust and the Voter: Safeguarding Electoral Integrity in the Age of AI', with a proposed Manila Declaration on electoral integrity on the table.
