The UK renews its flexible funding for UNDP: £24.75 million (about $33.3 million) through 2028
Development money works best when it can move fast and stay long. The United Kingdom has renewed its partnership with the United Nations Development Programme with £24.75 million (about $33.3 million) in flexible, multi-year funding for 2026 to 2028 — money UNDP can direct where it matters most rather than tying it to a single project. In 2025, UNDP's work with partners like the UK reached 1.1 billion people. The unrestricted funding underpins a permanent presence in more than 170 countries and territories: delivering essential services and emergency livelihoods in crisis contexts, restoring energy infrastructure in Ukraine, and connecting climate action to stronger local health systems. Predictable money, the agencies argue, is what lets teams help communities day to day and still act the moment a crisis strikes.
