Three tonnes of medicine, flown in by air force plane — a gift for TB patients

India’s High Commissioner Santosh Jha handed over a three-tonne consignment of essential anti-tuberculosis medicines — more than 1.5 million tablets worth LKR 52 million (about $173,000) — to Sri Lankan Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa in Colombo, at Sri Lanka’s request. The drugs were flown in aboard an Indian Air Force C-130J. India is also funding an SLR 600 million (about $2 million) emergency unit at the District General Hospital in Mannar.

The upbeat factora neighbor, literally delivering medicine.
