Three years on, a personalised melanoma vaccine is still holding every response
Cancer vaccines face one brutal test: time. Copenhagen-based Evaxion has now reported three-year follow-up from its Phase 2 trial of EVX-01, a vaccine personalised to each patient's own melanoma — and every patient followed into year three kept the response they had at year two, with no tumour progression during that third year, on the vaccine alone. The earlier data set the bar high: a 75% response rate, a quarter of patients with complete responses, and 92% still responding at two years. The three-year results will be presented at the ESMO cancer congress in Madrid on October 24. Small numbers, still a trial — but durability like this is precisely what personalised cancer vaccines have to prove.
