Twelve stories from Latin America that could change how a continent heals
San Jose, Costa Rica hosted the 14th Premio Roche de Periodismo en Salud tonight, honouring the best health journalism in Ibero-America. Twelve finalists were chosen from 699 entries across Latin America, Spain and Portugal — and seven of the twelve were produced by all-women teams. Run with the Fundacion Gabo, the prize celebrates reporting that explains health challenges rigorously and brings scientific evidence to everyday readers. The winners head to the Festival Gabo 2027 in Bogota.
