Twenty bright water ideas get a fast lane in Europe
The European Commission has launched a new accelerator — the Green Assist Water Resilience Investment Accelerator — to help good water projects find the money they need to actually happen. It will back 20 pilot projects working on practical ideas: holding rainwater in wetlands and landscapes instead of letting it rush away, keeping drinking water clean, and using less of it in the first place. The focus is on creative funding, especially private investment, so promising local projects do not stall for lack of a backer. As water stress rises across Europe, this is an attempt to move help from paper to pipes, fields and riverbanks, faster.
