Two development banks just agreed to hunt for African projects together — energy, water, health and digital first
In Conakry, Guinea, the African Development Bank Group and UK Export Finance signed their first-ever framework agreement: a memorandum to identify, assess and co-finance projects together across Africa, combining development finance with export credit to pull in more capital at scale. Priority areas include energy, infrastructure, water and sanitation, health, digital infrastructure and agriculture. 'Africa's financing needs call for partnerships that bring additional capital to the continent at scale,' said the Bank's Abdul Kamara. It is plumbing, not ribbon-cutting — and plumbing is what makes the projects that follow possible.
