Two golds, two world records, one weekend: Kadeena Cox completes her Apeldoorn double

Kadeena Cox was not finished. After winning the C4 1km title with a world record on Friday, the 35-year-old British para-cyclist returned to the track in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, broke the world record again in C4 sprint qualifying — 11.409 seconds — and then beat Australia's Tara Neyland on the line in a close final to take her first individual sprint world title. It is her second gold of the Para-cycling Track World Championships, for a rider who is already a five-time Paralympic champion, and it lifts Great Britain's tally at the championships to six golds, eight silvers and five bronzes. Some comebacks announce themselves; this one kept setting records on its way through.

The upbeat factorfirst the 1km record, then the sprint record — a champion returning at world-record speed, twice in one weekend.
